Nethack on the iPhone
This is why I bought my $600 phone: to play Nethack locally on it. I've peaked. The rest of life will all be downhill from here.

I'm assuming that if you want to play Nethack you know at least a bit about the Unix command line.
You need a jailbroken phone first. If you haven't done that yet, go to www.jailbreakme.com/ with your 1.1.1 phone, and that will install Installer.app. Once you have that, install Community Sources, then install BSD Subsystem.
Then go here: wickedpsyched.net/iphone/games/
Download and unpack nethack.gz from there, then scp the binary to somewhere in your shell's PATH (/usr/bin or /usr/local/bin if you've added it) and make it executable. You will also need to copy the lib directory from the archive you unpacked to something like /usr/games/lib/nethackdir. I don't recall the exact path, but Nethack will complain with the correct one if you don't get it right.
Actually, there might be one more step. You might need to upload a copy of /etc/termcap to your phone. There's one on the wickedpsyched.net site above - Nethack will tell you if it needs it when you try to run it.
