Much of my time in 2004 through late 2006 was spent helping care for somone very dear to me, my mother-in-law Mary Ann Powers, as she battled a malignant, primary brain tumor known as glioblastoma multiforme, or GBM. As I work to realign my life out of the world of cancer care and back into the tech sector, I want to share some of what I’ve learned through this incredible journey and provide a resource to support both research and awareness on the path to a cure.
I’ve begun to build a brain tumor support site, which at the moment is little more than a fundraising tool for this year’s Race for Hope event, but in time will grow to include an insider’s perspective on how to approach care and treatment of this devastating disease.
